New Years 2021

A few pictures from New Years .... Isaac was keeping me company while I cooked ... and Charlie is always keeping me company ...

Meanwhile, we left the kids to snowboarding behind the quad while we left for a walk (yes, strange stage ... we just shrugged and figured they would figure things out ... we just prayed nobody would get hurt)  Lovely walk in the snow ...

Once back from our walk...these kids were soaked, tired and happy ... so it was time to tie a couple tarps onto the back of the truck and play king of the hill ... each tarp had half the kids .... very redneck!!

These 2 ....they are so great .. they laugh ALL the time ... they both have girlfriends for the first time and we all love both of the girls ... who were, by the way, in places we all wished we were at that moment!!  One was in Maui and the other Cancun!!!

They yelled "we can't feel our fingers!!!"

Kids vs adults on game night .... here we are losing at Krokinole.... we also lost at Otrio and Cups ....Elliot is not a good winner .... very 'in your face' about the whole thing.  I was starting to get tired at this point since we had about 5 hours before midnight still to go!!

The intense game of Krokinole between the fathers and sons .... it was around here that Josh yelled 'we should get a leaderboard!!' that Chris and I felt deep fear that we weren't coming to the end of 'Game time' with the Williams ...lol .... we tried to decide on a movie we could all watch to take us closer to midnight to no avail ... but do you want to know what won?  A full game of Among US!!  You should have seen all the kids light up!!  So, we moved to our side where the fire was on, and we had water (that side froze!) .... so, we played Among us ..... so silly ....

The next morning was slow going ... I made cookies and Shannon and I put together 18 sandwiches for lunch bags we were making for the homeless that were being delivered last night to one of the temporary shelters in town ...

New Year’s Eve EVE!!

Williams came over on the 30th to spend a couple nights with us up here at the camp!   On night 1, Isaac also had his boys over for a sleepover .... (that is them in the far corner huddled around an intense game of foosball) and Phil and Chris were playing on the new pool table that Joy donated last week!

And then in the livingroom, Shannon and I chilled out after a snowy walk with Charlie ....

It was also the day sweet Betty married her high school sweetheart .... she is the age where she and all her friends (and sister Jonica and Steph) put things on instagram for every moment that happens ... so I was able to follow along for much of the day!!  So fun ...

Christmas Day 2021

Early morning wake ups are still a thing around here!  Opening stockings on our bed is also still a thing .... but the new thing this year is that the parents got stocking too!!!

Someone also got a bone for Christmas!

"Kids Table" ... which looked a whole lot more fun than the adult table! lol

Marg made these sweet little snowmen for everyone!!  They were filled with little candies ... 

And Jenny made a gingerbread cake!!

Mike and Laura (and fam and dog) only stayed for the gift exchange, but once they left, many musical instruments and singing came out .... 

These 2 sang from the couch .. so cute!!!  And chris in his position he often is in while with his family.

Did I mention lots of singing?

He has blended into the family so well ... we need to get him used to car rides and then he will be the perfect dog.

Williams are home from their Christmas holidays!!

Snow came!!!!  And the camp looks so beautiful!!

This sweet guy, though always up for a walk, is really happy just to sleep beside or on you!!

As soon as the Williams got back from Vancouver, we braved the snowy roads and drove to their house!!!  These kids were so happy to be back together!!

As were we .... feels like home when we get there ...





Shannon went out to get something, and I wonder if Charlie thought it was me? So cute.

Back home ... nice to come home after being in the 'big city'

The facebook memories this month have been killing me .. I am going to miss the Inch's house and the visit with them in Decembers .... their house is going on the market next month and they are moving to Dallas to be closer to the kids .... guess we will be heading to Dallas!

Wrapping gifts with Charlie ... I am so curious to whether the rescue will call us to have us sign papers/pay them for him soon?  We haven't been called or contacted in weeks ... so strange ... in our heads though this guy isn't going anywhere ... he is so sweet.
