Halloween 2013

Another year, another power ranger, woody the cowboy, batman, Luigi and Mario!!

Batman and long underwear boy, I mean Mario caught developing strategies!!!

I open the door and hear "where can I take you?"  Batman was ready to drive...only 6 more years. 

Was pretty sweet watching our gang storm the streets of our small town.  At one point Paul call out "watch out for cars".... We laughed at the hilarity of that.  

The night finale was at the community centre for a costume contest.  Jaxon won a prize - and the runner ups got gold medals.... Pretty cute.

We have a great little community.  Another Halloween under our belt - my stomach is full and nearly sick with too much candy.

Dracula!!!

Loving life!!!  Full tummies!!  To thank Kelly for letting us use her timeshare this December.....we treated her to he Chemainus theatre to see Dracula!! 

It was the best play I have seen at the theatre.   We had such a good time together..... Picked the best person to go with .. No doubt!

Expensed lunch....

Just another working lunch.   I had to take a picture because I asked the server "had I accepted the bill amount, were you taking off to the Bahamas after lunch?"

Long day

The day is over..... Spent much of my day going to war on the local jeep dealership, fighting for my friend/coworker who went in for an oil change and came out with a 2014 jeep.  Went to war, lost the battle.  

Got home, mediocre crock pot dinner, cleaned up, played dictator to get the kids to do their piano, homework, lunches, laundry....

Fell into bed.....while Chris went back to work at the office.  

He looks like he did when he was a baby.  He crawls in with me after Elliot falls asleep.  I just love that.  I just love him.  Both boys just rock my world.

Happy birthday marg!!!

The power was out.....but the beef for taco salad had been cooking all day....and Margs birthday is tomorrow, and being flexible and spontaneous, she agreed to a last minute invite to a birthday dinner.

Beautiful fall day together.

What a gorgeous day!!! We went to skutz falls for a bit of a walk/mushroom hunt!!

Chris found some chantrells while the boys and I played on the bridge.

What else can I say here?   The boys are at such a nice stage....Elliot is loud and chatty out in the wilderness now....I thought to myself how nice to not be dealing with his tantrums anymore.  It feels like they went on for so long that I didn't realize the day they kinda just stopped.  But I am thankful.  Happy to be able to be out in the wild with kids who are happy to be out there exploring, and not whiny to go home or be carried.  The transition happened quickly.....it was all good....but this is even better.

Flights ... Booked!

Accommodations on the beach, close to my parents marina where their boat is moored ... Booked!

Christmas in the Bahamas...in Abacos....a rural little, do nothing island in the Caribbean...is it really going to happen?  Been busy going through the motions of planning and talking, that now that it's all booked ... Oh my goodness!!!!  We are going to the Bahamas for Christmas with my parents!!!  I don't think I could be more excited!!

Saturday hike together ....

After chiro...we went for a hike on a trail that Chris was always curious about where it lead:

It actually was a nice trail until it wasn't.  It suddenly disappeared into a bit of a dry swamp type trail.  And when we got back close to where our car was, there was only a ditch to cross......

When we emerged....a van pulled over and out popped a vampire, Mickey Mouse and his girlfriend (well, his mom!)

When we got home, we were pleasantly surprised at the amount of wood in our breezeway by our amazing neighbours.   So...I fed them dinner.   

It was a nice Saturday!!

Friday - Pro D Day!!! DAY OF COUSINS!!!

My kids got a double dose of cousin time today.  I love how they all play together so well.  Laura arrived with her crew around noon, along with an extra boy, Malcolm.  Carrie and I had made fresh buns and fresh pea soup that the kids all gobbled up and then went upstairs to trash the attic.  They had a good time!  Around 2, we tossed them all outside while Carrie and Ellie went for a nap!  It's amazing how long a pit can occupy 7 kids!!  It was nice to Laura and I to stand and watch them....after awhile, they seem to divide into their own camps, doing various things.

The red coats were funny......these kids are all so full of beans, lots of laughing....i love it.  All super sweet kids.

My SIL.  We've decided to visit Susan for my birthday.....it will be nice to have some one on one time together.....her november is so packed, and my december is full, so I am glad we can potentially carve this time out to go visit Susan!  I am excited for them to meet.  Turning 38 is cool too.  30's have been awesome.

I worked for the first half of the week, so her kids pretty much stayed around and played with the Zalinko boys and had fun in the sun!!!

Fast forward to friday night dress up to visit the local grocery stores halloween sale night!  I found a bear costume....but I think it actually cracked my bum a little more from how high it had to ride up in order to go over my shoulders......

...but then she changed her mind, took it out of aunties mouth....and ate it.  Carrie wasn't too impressed.
