Marlo comes to visit, trees get chipped, I keto on .... and we make necklaces ....

Nicki is here for the week and we always exercise together when she comes. But this week was my first week on Keto (trying to lose the Covid pounds), so I wasn’t feeling too great this week so this was the main day we did run and swim together!!

Iced coffee is very keto friendly....

Trying to enjoy the deck as the wood chippers are here .... and it’s so loud. 

Marlo and her mom and partner stopped in for a visit.  They were doing to sooke loop ...such a sweet mom. 



I made Yorkshire puddings with Diane in the kitchen for the staff ....made them, didn’t eat them.  

Made this for Catherine.  And made a necklace for Linda as part of her retirement gifts ...

I think we’ll make this a WOA workshop.

July 25 - Day out, haircuts, bike rides

Thursday’s (according to Elliot) suck because it’s a screen free day due to his deal on the Oculus Quest, so I’ve been trying to make them fun by having day outs together - we run errands, deliver wands, thrift and go to Starbucks. 

New Life church was up this weekend so Greta and I went for a bike ride Saturday morning .... love this trail.  

Shannon came over later and Elliot only trusted her to cut his hair ....

He always looks so good after a cut!!!

So now that the neighbours tree fell, I can no longer sit on the deck first thing to do my work because it’s straight sun!!

Elliot humoured me and went for a ride ....

This guy never gets to relax much so this was a rare shot.

Water fun with Williams and a tree falls

Isaac and the staff teamed worked with Chris to put up the inflatables today!  So fun to watch camp get prepped!!

Phil came over today to help Chris with the merch hut .... so while they worked, Shannon and I went for a bike ride down the transcanada trail ...

These 2 work well and fast together ... so great to see Phil up here with him ... so helpful!

So, one of the branches fell while Shannon and I were on the deck .... it was crazy loud!!

Final day of Qwanoes and folks come with a surprise!!!

Got my first hair cut with a couple highlights from Nikki ....

On my way to pick up the boys, I stopped at Lycretia's to see her puppies!

The folks surprised the boys with their very own boat!! Within the weekend, Elliot had finished his power boating licence!  (Isaac got half finished)

They had fun putting it all together!

The visit was quick ... and it's too bad it was too quick because we were all going to meet in Revelstoke for Jacks birthday the following weekend, but due to COVID, it was decided that we all should stay in our corners ....

Day 3 of Qwanoes ....

Day 3 ..... Max was always in sweatshirts and jeans ....

After drop off, Shannon and I headed for a hike to Saltspring before I went back to work on her deck ...

We laughed because we totally didn't plan to look alike ...

We aimed for the highest peak, but settled for the first big lookout ...

The highest peak was still a few hours away of a hike ... and we both had things to do that day, so this was a good start to the day!

She's such a beast ....

Picking up this charmer .... also, I love these Qwanoes stairs to the water - they hold such great memories, including summers of running up and down them!!

Wednesday night, after dinner, bags packed for the next day, and new friends en-route to stay at the Williams, I tag teamed the other couple in, and headed home for a couple solo nights with Chris ... They looked happy enough and wouldn't miss me ... Elliot was cleaning up in poker, and Max and Isaac were happy to hang out together ...

Said good bye ... this kid has become to independent this summer ...

Qwanoes Day 2

Woke up in "our" trailer .... that is Elliot in a lump on the other side of the trailer (dinette was down) .... its a nice little trailer ....

Packing up for the day of adventure .... that is Isaacs hands making pancakes ...

By Tuesday, everyone was pretty worn out ....



Off they go for DAY 2!

Masks are mandatory at Qwanoes for pickup/drop-off since we were dropping off by boat and walking the kids up to their tents (normally parents don't even exit their cars ... they just kick the kids out, so I guess we got special treatment being able to walk around ... )

AHHH - A kidless day to ourselves!!!  We actually drove back to Shannons so I could get to work and she went off with a girlfriend on their bikes .... it was a beautiful day.
