Went bowling .....

Well, I watched while everyone bowled.  I didn’t even want to leave the house so when we were in the car I warned my family not to bully me into shoes. That I would be happiest just being amongst everyone and cheering them on but not participating.  (I get so competitive that I didn’t have it in me... but it was fun watching everyone)
And as a strange addition to my Facebook wall from sister, this little appropriate gem:
This pretty much summed up the evening. Everyone is ok and everyone is safe.

Laura ...

So after yesterday morning, I haven't been able to really cope well .... I stayed in bed for much of the day, but this morning was good ... Isaac slept all night pretty much, beside my bed ... I didn't really take my eyes off him all night.  But at work, I started feeling really nauseous and panicky so I texted Laura and she came to take me for a walk ..... she also left me with soup, applesauce and kale .... she is such a gift.

Isaac has a grand mal

First grand mal seizure yesterday morning .... kept him on his side and braced him until he woke up.  Ambulance arrived and since I arrived after it started, they took him to the hospital.

We were there for quite a while getting bloodwork to make sure it wasn't something else and given we've never increased his dose since he was 9, it made sense that something like this could happen. He has grown so much this past year, that we were all really hoping he was growing out of it.

The hospital had wifi, so the Office was put on to pass the time.

All his capillaries broke around his eyes .... hard to tell from this picture, but they look like red freckles ... he is in great spirits and doesn't remember much other than waking up and seeing the ambulance attendant asking for his arm to take his pulse and if he had wet himself ;-)  He found that amusing.

Laura was the best nurse .... she got Isaac a piece of bread with peanut butter and Tylenol when a headache came on strong ... we've always been well cared for at this hospital.  Lots of bloodwork to make sure it wasn't something else ....and his neurologist was on-call so she talked to his doctor about a plan moving forward since it doesn't appear he is growing out of this as of yet.   Bloodwork showed that he didn't have therapeutic levels of tegratol in his system to make a difference given his weight and growth .... he has been having small seizures at night but we were feeling like we could live with those as they weren't impeding his quality of life.  And the goal was to get off the meds .... well ....his body seems to have other plans ....

Once home, he happily watched the office and whiddled ....

Homesteading Workshops with Nicole!!

Nicole invited me to a homesteading workshop that her church was putting on this morning.
It was nice. We made perogie’s first, then salsa, then mayo, then soap (made with lye and hasmat suits! Lol kidding, but making soap is not as easy as you’d think)

I walked with a lot of goodies!!

While I was gone, chris was off doing some homesteading of his own!

He then came home and napped while the boys and I cleaned the house and made lasagna.  Been a good day.

Iceland and heading home!!!

Our first full day and we were up early to get ahead of the tourists!

Down side of getting to places before tourists, is that there is nobody around to rescue you when you are caught between two stone walls and a ram who is facing off with you!!

My adventurous husband always wants to see what is hidden, so we had already been in the car and leaving but he saw this waterfall with water falling behind a rock and wanted to see where it landed.  lol...so we re-parked and headed back towards this one.  The only way in is through this crack .... so off came the socks and shoes and in he went!

It pretty much numbed his feet immediately ....

But was successful in seeing behind the rock ....

Our final morning in Iceland, so I took a shower ... please note the glass frosting covers NO part of a naked body standing in the shower .... sheesh .... I hung a towel there ... no peep show for you Iceland

Arrival back into Vancouver ....

Taxi cab to the ferry ... one step closer to our babies ... we were so eager to get home to them.
