Visit with the Ring Pop family.....

We went to Rob and Cristins house last night and had an impromtu dinner as i was supposed to help her with the girls since she hurt her knee and Rob was going to be away that night - but rob ended up taking the night off and chris was coming with me to watch the hockey game and get dinner!! Isaac kept a dry diaper all day and Cristin rewards him at 9pm with a RING POP! Well, as cute as he was with a blue mouth, he polished that ring pop off in minutes and we were still talking with a very wide awake happy child at 11:45 last night! It was a pretty enjoyable night - lucky to have such nice friends.

Bright Angel Park

Had a beautiful day today and took advantage by hiking bright angel park with the boys. Elliot slept most of the way and Isaac loved spotting all the dead salmons -- "More Thish! More Thish!" It was a pretty great day!

Chaos with 3 crazy boys!

My friend Katrina and her family came over tonight for a crazy dinner--it was pretty funny as the table was set, food was on the table, isaac in his highchair--chris and i sit down to eat - and Katrina had to nurse baby Sophie, Luke was off chasing his 2 boys from the livingroom..our family was all alone to start that meal!! Our families combined with 3 boys under 3, and 2 babies under 6 months--it kept us hopping--so we thought we would add fuel to the fire by offering them chocolate pudding for dessert!! Quite the night!! Apparently my life with 2 boys is pretty easy compared to what she accomplishes every day with 3!! What a superwoman!

I love the Hunt....the latest stroller drama

The stroller i bought last week:

.....I sold it on Sunday (for a profit of course) --it was very cool, but too heavy - which proves that when it comes to practicality, looks don't always win out!

The Stroller i bought Sunday night:

.....and so the saga continues of how Sharon will carry her kids!

Introducing......

A very cool young man with a new haircut! Suddenly, my little toddler is a little man! when did this happen? We had a bit of a meltdown last week when we went for a haircut and we ended up leaving, but he needed one so bad..so we had a long conversation yesturday about how everyone gets haircuts and with Christmas coming, we all want to look our best for the holiday (hence i am looking into a new 'do' too-much to chris's apprehension--why is it that guys just love long hair? Its not even like my hair is down ever!! So, technically, its like i already have a short hair cut with a bun stuck on top! i mean Really!!! Sorry, i digress about the whole hair thing....back to Isaac--he went in this morning, like a big boy, sat there for the cut, even giggled when the trimmers trimmed up his neck--very goodlooking chap if i may say so!!

Lucky Woman

I am feeling quite blessed tonight. What beautiful boys i have--how did i get so lucky? Tonight as i am tucking Isaac into bed, he accidentally bangs his head into my cheek! Hard enough for me to flinch and hold my face in pain--so concerned, he grabs my hand away and says 'i kiss it better..sorry mommy'...and follows those sweet words with a big wet kiss--what a lucky woman.

"It followed me in here...."

So I was just having a nightly chat with Isaac as i was putting him to bed when in walks Chris to give him a kiss and a hug goodnight - when Chris looks at both of us apologetically and with big doe eyes says "sorry...it followed me in here"...and thats when the smell hits both of us! I glare at Chris as my eyes are starting to roll to the back of my head, and Isaac looks at me says "It smells like poop in here!!" yup.

5 Months Old!!

My brand new baby boy is now a big 5 month old today!! This will be my post today since i have officially had a stern talking to from nolana - ok, so here is my butt in gear (but in my defense, i have updated the girls blog - that has to count for something!)

Ok-so, elliot is 5 months old today and is a total charmer! happy little baby, i almost don't know how to handle a baby like this--not having to swaddle, shhh, soother, pace, etc with a baby is now uncharted territory and so far, i am loving this new territory!

We have had quite a few little parties in the past week and Isaac has been a wonderful host-even staying up until the guests leave, i am sure it is just to make sure they had a good time. On those nights he has been staying up, with a big grin on his face, until sometimes midnight!! (does that make me a cool mom? or a neglectful one??) I figure, Chris has only a few weeks left of parental leave, so its still a special time - not much 'routine' the last few months with all the traveling, but he has been adapting very very well! yay for packable kids!!!

I bought a new stroller today, i will post a pic so everyone can ooh and ahh, but i believe someone came and stole our green baby jogger--in retrospect, i really did love that stroller, very light and great--as always, didn't know what i had til i lost it! But this new stroller can put the child either facing you or facing outward, and there is a little step at the back for Isaac to ride on when he gets tired--so that was very cool! What do you think of the color?

New Years Eve party is just around the corner and i am pretty excited--if anyone wants to stay here over new years--very welcome to crash!! but the party at the camp should be alot of fun, isaac always loves to wake up for the fireworks--and knowing him, he will still be awake at midnight for them and the balloon drop - if i let him! In years past, i have to wake him up and bring him down - but he has become quite the party animal! hey--maybe Kari will have her baby that night and we will see her pic in the news as having the 1st baby of 2007!!! That would be so fun!!

Our Night Time Routine

.......Little isaac stands in the crack of the door to watch the action go by until he is too tired to stand-he is sure to be very quiet. When he starts making demands, we shut the door--so he has learned to be stealthy and quiet in order to be able to watch (watch what, i am not sure--we aren't too interesting when we walk by)

Elliots Fan Club!!

I feel like if Elliot could talk he would be saying " Ladies! Ladies! There is enough of me for everyone!!" Introducing Isaac and Elliots only 2 friends who have been friends with them since birth - - Meghan and Olivia...please note that the pic below compares a 4 month old (Elliot) with a 9 month old (Meghan) and they are the exact height!! Sweet little babies!

Almost 31!!!

It's 11pm and i am bored and not tired and both boys are asleep, so i thought i would play with our camera and take some self shots--out of 56 pics, my eyes were totally tearing up trying to keep them open (yes Carrie, i haven't grown out of that annoying trait!) ...anyways--out of 56 pics, only 15 were ok to look at and then only 3 or 4 were sorta nice--here was one i thought was cool!

It's been raining for days......

...and its starting to get to us! Chris and i have been happy to settle back into our home after Maui, but we officially hit the 'stir crazy' mark yesturday. I am still happy to stick around home, but his cabin fever is starting to wear off on me too now. We have both been awake (and i mean WIDE awake) since about 5ish when isaac woke up for his nighttime bottle (which is driving me nuts since he is just conditioned now to wake up for a bottle, not that he is hungry or anything--its just a habit now, and its also the fastest way to make him be quiet and go back to bed--but then we both wake up because we're up being 'active' and thus harder to fall back asleep!) Not to mention the damage we are doing to his teeth!! But i digress (is that the right spelling)--so, we are awake together-and as we get talking we realize we are anxious mainly about this house in Youbou--we knew we had everything going against us (size, time of year, stairs..etc)-but we just had a good feeling about it because it was a sweet little house. and it has only been on the market for 3 weeks, but we still expect things quickly. (unrealistic i know, but whatever....thats the way we are!!)

Anyways---i heard elliot fussing a couple times so i figured, hey, i'm awake, may as well go hang out with him. So we had a nice nursing time rocking by the window listening to the rain--i watched it get light out-and here it is almost 8am and i haven't slept since 5am. But i fed elliot, changed him, made googly eyes at him for awhile and then thought i should head back to bed, so i laid him in bed and he just put his fingers in his mouth and stared in the direction of the window..happily! i can't get over how content he is--i went back in a few minutes ago, and same thing--he was still looking out the window just hanging out! I can't get over how in love i am with that little soul.

OK-maybe i will try to get back to sleep for awhile.......

Dutch Oven

So, Isaac learned about Dutch Ovens tonight...here is the story that inspired the learning curve!
Chris and Isaac were playing together in the livingroom hiding under his blanket when i overhear this conversation:
C: Isaac, did you poop your pants?
I: No, i tarted (translation needed?)
C: Arg, blech, it stinks isaac!! (and he comes out from under the blanket)
I: Daddy, back IN! back IN!
C: NO WAY! It REEKS!

I think its pretty hilarious that isaac gave his daddy his first dutch oven without even realizing how funny it was.

Anyways---me and "tart-y" pants are going out to a movie together tonight. Since Elliot has been sleeping for hours on end, i am pretty sure he can last 3 hours while Isaac and I are gone. Elliot didn't eat for 9 hours on thursday while chris and i went to dinner and the theatre - he just wouldn't take a bottle from Courtney! What an amazing baby--i don't really remember seeing the light of day with isaac until he was much much older!

Saturday Nov 4th - man time flies

It's 6am and its the first time in weeks that isaac hasn't woken up in the night but now, here i am conditioned to wake up and wait!! Tonight was also the first time it rained like crazy all night and the wind was howling and the front screen door kept hitting the house and i mean....if any night...tonight was the night to be actually scared of noises etc!! Enough to wake you up! Woke me up as i creeped around the house checking on the kids and figured out it was just the screen door and not an animal or someone wanting to get in!!

Today is sat...what to do? what to do? No itinerary--and i want to stay around home and do some painting but chris wants to get off property cause the IF is coming up for a meeting today and it often stresses him out.

Life With Boys....

My life with boys...the saga continues! Elliot, at only 4 months started about 3 weeks ago to sleep all night! From 9ish pm until 9ish am! Its incredible! Coming from my only experience with isaac 'mr. feed me every 2 hours 24 hrs a day'....i am often beside myself with how lucky i am!! Also often dripping with milk by 9am poking him to wake up and help mommy!!!

Honestly though, i figured a blog would be a good way to keep my folks in touch with what is happening with these boys who are growing up so fast in front of me! I am trying to slow them down--but its not happening and i think they would appreciate being able to log on at any time to see the latest pictures, events and accomplishments of these 2 boys! So here you go mom and dad...Enjoy!
