Mornings.....

We were sort of behind the ball Friday morning, getting ready for school and work.  The boys were seriously dragging their feet (we are all very very ready for summer!)......so Chris is doing his best to hustle these kids when Isaac comes in, wrapped in this huge blanket as usual, and we're both like "Isaac!!!! Get dressed!!"   "I AM" he says.....

Where's your brother??  Is he ready??!!

Sigh.... Lucky they are so cute.....

Friday.

Had no plans today so after dropping the kids off at school, I went into work for a few hours.  Then around noon, I headed to margs to work on re-covering my quad seat ... But alas the staple gun wasn't cooperating.  

After school pickup, we made a nice dinner of pot roast, Greek salad, steamed broccoli, homemade fries (kids hate Greek salad, so they chose a handful of raw spinach .... ).  You're welcome mom, I know you love to know what we eat!

It was so beautiful out, so we headed over to the track after dropping off recycling. 

Requests were made for ice cream so we went to town to pick up vanilla icecream and then we made our own homemade milkshakes!!

And then one of the highlights of the day; talking and laughing with this girl.  

She's having such a blast on the coast guard ship.  We were laughing because brad told her today "holy man, I am exhausted!! Why am I exhausted??!"  So funny!!

I love living here.

Chris and Jon were at Duncan Christian school for imadene this evening and I saw oscar on the way out!! ( on the wall!!!)

Wednesday pick up from after school care....

Hmmmm.... My child looked like the tin man with orange painted nails....

We get to see the real Jax when we get him on the quad, whether its with me or Chris.  Today, Chris had his quad ready to ride, so he was the lucky one who got to make Jax laugh tonight!

And before I knew it, it was 1 and time for a meeting at Glenora Farms. It's a beautiful therapeutic farm for people with disabilities.  They house 15 "companions" and provide day programs for 5 more.  Here is Jenny giving Randi and I a very warm welcome.  

And here is a shot of their wood mill. They really try to live off the land here and use everything from their own lumber to meats to produce. 

The companions all meet in this beautiful log home each morning to discuss their day. It was so peaceful.  It makes me want to run our lives differently.  

It was soon time for pickup.  Track and field today.  He rocked the relay race. 

Then Dylan and Amanda came over.  Dylan played with all the kids while Amanda and I walked for an hour.  I love our talks.  Not too much is off the table as far as discussion goes.  It's nice that she is the only person in my normal life I can talk to a little about work life. And we laugh lots.

Tummy aches .... And other Monday adventures.

I gave Isaac a multi and a vitamin B pretty close to breakfast time that by the time we got into the car he was complaining of a tummy ache.  I told him if he was still sore at 10, to call me and I'd come get him.

And by 11, he called me.... So I took him back to work because I had a lot to still accomplish.  He did all his homework....

And then had a rest .... Under my desk.  I'm not the only one who appreciates having a heater under my desk!

When we got home, it was piano, lunches, and tidying up.  French toast for dinner with Charlotte, Mel and Gussie.... And now they are upstairs watching a movie and we are chilling out downstairs... It's been a good day.

5 kids 4 adults = Sunday night.

The weather can't seem to make up it's mind.... Rain, sun and repeat.  

The 5 kids stayed at the table while the adults escaped outside to the firepit.  I laughed because nic didn't flinch at leaving amara in a highchair with the big kids while we were outside. "Third kid" she says. 

She was able to finish her dinner before one of the kids came out to let us know she was out of her highchair and crawling on top of the table. 

Happy 10 year Anniversary Rentons!!!

I was beyond flattered when I was recruited to help JL with a secret mission last week.  Turns out she has been eating amazing for months to prep her body to fit into her wedding dress for their ten year anniversary.  She needed help doing up the back of her dress .... 

She rented Andy a tux; (which he seemed quite pleased with)

A beautiful Saturday!!

Highlight of the day was a quad ride with this guy.  It was so nice to get out together and listen to Jax giggle.  Can't wait for him to get better.... He's on his way .... 

We cleaned up the yards (both), and the boys helped me clean inside, so by the time marg and gord got there for dinner, it was time to relax around our new fireplace!
