This gang has been coming for years .... Sherilyns face is pretty on point ... she is always in alot of pain.

After chapel, some women stayed, while others wandered up to the patio to do some self directed activities .... Nancy got a haircut!

Summer 2020 Sleeping arrangements

Mittens has decided this is her spot to sleep. She often gets a good kick while we are flipping or moving through the night.  Please note the constant position of poor body language .... always shunning.  Always.  

Chris leaves the bed between 2 and 4 most nights to sleep on the couch with the tv on.  

Elliot has slept every night right here since his brother moved to camp.  When Isaac is home, he’ll sleep in his own bed, but this is where he lives and makes us watch “Daily dose of internet” every night before bed.  

Saturday, Aug 29 - WOA 1, 2020

She asked me to go, so I did .... super scared and a ton of water went up my nose ...

4:30 was time for prayer with Nancy and her friends .... it was beautiful ...

It was a hard weekend ... coming to terms with her illness that has no more options available ...

And back in the kitchen, it was time for dinner and armpit hair ...

I downplayed a ride up a mountain to blow bubbles so that it would only be Nancy and her friends ...

It worked, nobody else wanted to go ;-)  We had a beautiful time ...

Friday, Aug 28 - WOA 2020

I love when others come around with an eye for decorating .... 

Shannon and I == ready to roll!!  Here we are welcoming campers, but also being ready to hit the beach.



Jim taught sailing to Nicole and her sister ... they laughed so hard through their classes, we could hear them on the beach ... 

Chris led Brianne and Shannon on a mushroom walk ... both were super thrilled ... Chris went back later to pick more mushrooms, faster lol

Cheryl and Elizabeth working so hard ... we didn't have a ton of staff this weekend .... 

This is Kelly, she is a cake decorator and agreed to come and make cupcakes for mug-up and also lead a fondant decorating class ... a few took it, but most campers were like "you can decorate my cupcake"...they just wanted to eat it ....

End of summer and start of WOA 2020

Mom and dad are camping nearby with some friends ... so today I took some time after work to go to a wine tasting with mom ...

Thursday morning was the last day of our summer staff being here ... so the leadership staff woke up early to make them a good bye breakfast ...

Seemed appropriate ;-)

Probably our best group ever .. so close, they worked hard ... and were such a lovely group ...

Fast forward a few hours to the night before the start of WOA #1 .....

Darlene brought Nancy up a night early so they could rest and be together ... it was the start of a really special weekend ... Nancy rested while Darlene came and helped a bunch of us in the kitchen prep food for the weekend ....

Tuesday .... almost done camp and Laura’s bike bike trip!!

Isaacs and his campers!  He was a favorite of the summer.   The boys just loved him so much.  

Laura did a huge ride and started from our house - here she is getting set up with Chris’s SPOT gps.  

She rode to Port Renfrew, down to China Beach, then to Langford to see her (cancer free!!) sister, and then back up the trail behind the Malahat and back up to Imadene!!!

So proud of her huge trip!!!  Such a beast!!!
