This is my dad......

This is the picture beside my office desk.....me and my dad. I don't have any other shots in that room except this one....there is something about this picture that makes me feel good....happy. I have one terrific memory of my wedding day with my dad that stands out in my mind, and it is this: as he is walking me down the aisle...he looked over at me and smiled and whispers 'slow down'. Slow down is something i still hear him saying to me as i rush through life and have to continually remind myself to 'slow down'........sometimes i wonder what he was thinking when he said that to me--it could be taken so many different ways, couldn't it? 'slow down, you are growing up too fast'....or 'slow down, chris will still be there when you get there'....or 'slow down, and just enjoy this'.......maybe he meant all three. Boy, i loved him that day....i mean, i love him everyday, but it was a nice moment and i loved being walked down by him.
Here is the common picture i will have always have in my mind of my dad with his woman....kicking back, enjoying a glass of wine and chatting. Those 2 spend all day together and still prefer to relax together at night.....its inspiring really.
The obligatory 'you made me smile' shot.
I loved this shot of him tuning out new piano with the boys nearby. He would be happy to know that i played them to sleep the other night....not much more than some scales and some old songs from way back...but elliot yelled out for 'mo! mo!'

Happy Fathers Day dad.......if i were there i would give you a big squeeze and say 'thanks for being such a nice friend and father....i love you.

Quading with Grandmas!!

Great Grandma and grandma came to visit this morning! This is what we did--quading! Marg did quite well for her first time! Elliot came along and brought a book to read during some of the 'down time'
He also prefers to run alongside the quads than ride them these days.....
Great grandma was a wonderful reader of the "Little Engine that could"
Happy!

Water Night

When Isaac was just a wee babe, we would stuff him into a tiny little life jacket......he would tolerate it. When Elliot was a wee one, we would stuff HIM into a little life jacket, and he would scream til you took it off. Even up until early in the summer last year, elliot didn't like the life jacket....until he learned that lifejacket=fun on the jetski with dad....then everything changed! So, here is a picture of our progress! I didn't get the shot, but at one point, all 3 boys were giving me the thumbs up, go faster signal.......THIS is what Chris and i have been waiting for!! NOW the fun begins!
This happy guy looks like this because he took out the new ' wake skate'.....if you thought wakeboarding was tough, imagine wakeboarding with no bindings!

My man:
He seriously made it look so easy.....
Made me nervous how close he had to be to the boat, but the theory is, get into the boats wake, position yourself to catch the 'wave', let go, and go surfing......
Letting go...... RATS!! Missed it.....

Token Preschool Train Trip

It had finally arrived! His first field trip!!

They learned about trains...

They decorated lunch bags...

They reminded moms to buy juice boxes and send no containers...

Suncreen them up....and they were ready to go!The sibling, however, was not as prepared to watch his older brother take off in the train....a TRAIN!!! Trains are something he loves more than anything in the WORLD!! Here is poor little Elliot crying, pointing to his tummy, saying "My Turn!! hooo hooo!!!"......
Yes, Isaac was full sympathy.....can't you tell?
Didn't even look back......
Picnic with Nancy and her crew.....she loves getting her picture taken!

Chocolate pudding with a fork......
My gutsy little 2 year old......all the way to the shoreline to fill up a squirt gun
My girlfriend thinks Isaacs suit is too small.....what do you think??
Happy guy........
All he does is laugh........i think this shot captures him quite well
Collecting crabs kept him busy all afternoon.....i laughed when he and his little friend came running back screaming "WE'VE GOT CRABS!!"

We love love love the beach...but its not often we get to play on the ocean where there is lots of cool creatures to gawk at... so all in all.....very good day!

June so far.....

i know! i know! i haven't posted in weeks....and i am too tired to write anything witty..so here are the reasons to my blogging hiatus!

We got a brand new beautiful piano! Here is my dad after un-crating it...tuning it to perfect pitch with the help of the boys:

We got Jack all to ourselves while his mom and dad went Halibut fishing with grand-dad....this is the view of him for most of his time with us: in the highchair, ready to eat!

Here we are at the Birds of Prey! We were given a family pass for Isaacs birthday from auntie laura and uncle mike et al!
Proud nona...
She seemed pretty chill this weekend...even though she was the main care-giver for Jack!

Little ones turned 5!
Other little ones practiced their favorite past-time:

Party Time
Group shot of all Isaacs favorite peeps:
Auntie Carrie surprised Isaac with his very own Yoda Pinata!!
Here he is seeing it for the first time! SO AWESOME:

First Wack!
No candy here! Just toys and sparkles!

Star Wars Cake..these were his favorites that he wanted on display!

the 3 brave cousins.....

Just a favorite shot of my youngest with his favorite toy (of last week...he has now moved onto a tube of lip balm from the dentist he won't let go of!)

Some people went fishing:
All of them caught something great!

Dad with his 50 pounder! He could barely lift it!!
And lastly....lots of visits with friends:
good friends......
Laura came for her first sleepover with Oscar to the lake! We are aiming now to make it a tradition!
Andrew and Sarah and new baby Emily
Andrew introducing me to my first cup of coffee! (i just wanted a sip! hence the little cup--don't be fooled..its not expresso!)
Phew....and there we are: guilt from no blogging over!! It's been busy, it's been fun, it's sometimes been stressful, but we are very blessed! Here is to a great 2nd half of June!
