Girls Night Out on the Lake!

Welcome! Can i pour you a Strawberry lemonade daquiri?? Raspberry chocolate truffle torte...made by yours truly!
Getting rolling.......

My lovely husband came down to get the jetski going for us (first ride of the summer....needed a little love). Christie has been drooling over it (the jetski, not my husband...better not be anyways!!) for over 2 years...so she is like standing over him while he is starting it....he looks up when its her turn and starts giving her directions....she narrows her eyes and says 'i just need to know where the gas and the 'off' button are!'....he gingerly and quietly steps off and hands her the key.....
My Gabriola Gal pal Kim!! I love that she came.....she has been my friend since grade 8!
Tanya....my chiropractor i often wished was my friend....and now she is!

Nancy--the girl who is always up for a new adventure--though hesitantly, will almost always say 'ok!!' and that makes me so happy for her!! i love this shot of her...stunning hey?
Ah Christie.....my crazy friend Christie.....i laugh with her like i laugh with no other.....we can be 'total retards' as she says!

Nancy's first kayaking adventure...she did very well! As long as you kept the jetski away...and she can send a flyball anywhere she wants! yup-she got me square in the nards (if i had any!) cause i was baiting her that she couldn't aim......yes, the girl can aim!
I have every right to look terrified hanging onto Christie....
SEE???!!
We figured it out.....
Me and Kim.....awww....
Total 'retart' move, yet she can still pull off looking hot? go figure??
The End!!
Next time, i think we'll rock climb......or try wakeboarding behind the jetski? Nancy..you can drive! ;-)

Cowichan Challenge 2009

Another adventure.....with Cristin by my side: this girl got up at 6:30am after a rough night of only 3 hours of sleep..met me on the highway, was my equipment sherpa to and from the race (i am to call her 'Yetti' from here on out!), she took over 90 pictures and cheered me on at every leg of the race. Even before i could see her, i would hear her yelling 'GO SHARON!'....it was pretty wonderful.
So, i did the Cowichan Challenge in under 2 hours..... last night Chris looks at me and says 'are you SURE you want to do this? i mean, the last time you did it, you trained like crazy'...my response was (with narrowed, unimpressed eyes, thinking 'not helping honey')-"Its ok, i have been doing Jazzercise!"

The water was amazing...though i totally made the wrong choice leaving my goggles on land....i didn't account for all that splashing...but my swim time was 17 minutes according to Cristin!

Happy to be 1/3 finished.....nervous to be starting the hardest leg of the race.....
It looks fast...but i was actually real slow....
Finishing the 5km.....left knee started to give out at km 3, right knee at km 4...why do people run? I had 2 great men run past me at various points in that run and say something to me to keep me going--the first man said 'slow and steady wins the race'.....and a few km's later when i was feeling pretty low about being so slow and in pain, the next man said 'i have to remember the race is with myself and i have to kick my own ass'....well said, i thought..and i kept running.
The coveted finish line....check! and check!
Its 8 at night and i feel great....we'll see how tommorow morning feels-but it was a wonderful experience! And for those who knock jazzercise and roll their eyes...here is proof that it can pretty much train you for a triathlon! ;-)

Isaac and the Wishbone

We have been drying a wishbone...today Isaac wanted to make a wish.

Elliot wanted no part of it, so I knelt down and held onto the bone with isaac.

We counted to 3

i got the bigger piece unfortunatly, so i told him he could have my piece and my wish.

i asked what he wished for.

He said 'i wished that my dad would feel better'

Chris has been in bed this morning....overworked i think and he doesn't stop until his body makes him stop....

sweet wish hey?

End of June events

We chill...... We blow lots and lots of bubbles thanks to the huge influx of bubble swords from Isaacs birthday!
We have favorite people stop by for visits......the boys love love love Susan.....(please note they prefered to cram on her quad rather than ride with their mother!! ;-) btw: which was fine, i enjoyed the decrease of wriggling as i rode!
Again, Elliot prefers to run as i chase him with a quad.....Susan thought this is how i tire out my kids!
Susan turned one way to take a picture and got this.....
Then, turned the other way and got this:
Chris trying to give directions to a game that involved balls: here is Elliot asking for just "ONE BALL" (looks like he's giving him the finger hey?)

Could i ever do that? i think maybe i could have???
My handsome boy......
Never have you met a happier soul......
My second handsome one......
The Train Musuem....a place we go weekly! This week we invited Rachel and Kelly to come along with their kids Carter and Grace.
Rachel and i "amusing" ourselves with sunscreen....
I meant to crop out that random guy...oh well, can't go back now.....
Elliot learned how to get into sticky situations and yell until a stranger would come get him down....in this case, Kelly took a picture before getting him down--i love that he captures the moment before saving him......
And here is the gorgeous wooden kayak that my dad built for my mom as she decided she wanted to take up kayaking...sweet hey? And isn't it beautiful??
I BUILT IT!!!

And for your Bedtime Entertainment this evening.....

KIM LEAR everyone!

Yes, its my dear old friend from Grade 8.....coming to visit all the way from Gabriola Island. We had a really relaxing evening with a dinner that tasted so good...i was telling her as we were eating that this food tasted as good as the food at her house...i initially thought it was her house and her amazing cooking, but it was also that there were no kids to feed, clambering around for attention.

So, i guess i still do like to eat (though i don't normally enjoy it these days....), but it turns out, that its the current little company that makes me eat real quick and makes me not taste my food!

Anyways--i digress.....I hear Kim is telling an adventure story about isaac and a rocketship and i am listening to Isaac giggle while Elliot is trying to get kims attention making train noises!!

I love when she comes to visit......when she is done, we are going to finish off the seasalt chocolate that she brought (surprisingly amazing) and have some dark chocolate with caramel cups icecream with bananas cut into it for dessert....i wonder when the story will be over!!

First the bad news, then the good news......

The bad news is, this is a picture i wanted to post so that i wouldn't forget of something pretty bad that happened at the Qwanoes Open house, but funny enough to want to remember: Here is Elliot, walking hand in hand with Chris back to the car...please note his left leg!!! While we were watching the ribbon cutting of their new $187,000 skatepark, Elliot decided to do some "Christening" of his own and took a poo right there on the ramps!! He came over afterwards and said his typical "eep"..which we have come to learn means 'poo' (and as a side note, we are working on his speech right now, and we repeat "poo!!!" after he says "eep"...and he can say Poo!! So, we are a little stumped....but whatever--here he is.....it took 1/2 a package of wipes to clean that boy up, and we threw the gitch away...and it was only as we almost got the car that he realized it was dripping down his leg into his shoe--and he promptly freaked out! I guess he was grossed out?? After Jazzercise yesturday, i took my boys to the flying demonstration to the Birds of Prey.
Goofballs eh? Elliot couldn't really see through the holes!
Little brothers looking at little baby hawks
Waiting for the demo.....
Belle, the Harris Hawk
Elton, the Spectacled Owl
A random one of Isaac and Elliot hammering nails in Chris's new tuck shop building....they like to help!
Here are a couple shots from our Kayak adventure a few weeks back.......
As you can see, the water is low! If you think we are all on shore taking a break....this is actually us trying to push ourselves over the rocks on a shallow patch.
The chalets that i get to manage!! Yup...can i classify myself at a 'work from home' mom now?
Thats it for the randoms......enjoy the day!! Its going to be a nice one! We are currently getting ready to head out for speech therapy for Elliot! Then probably the beach in the afternoon! i know....it's tough....
