Isaacs Birthday!

Started out with a pancake bar with Jon volunteering to do the flipping!  Which left me free to do everything else!  Other than not using enough butter and making the pancakes too big, he did a decent job! (Just kidding Jon!! You rock..)

Isaac and Lium are sweet friends.....Lium was chosen to come home with us from school this aft....here is Isaac introducing him to his first taste of fresh rhubarb!!

When grandma arrived, she gave everyone gliders and took them all over to the BMX track to fly them!!

Check out the glee on his face!  These are my favorite moments lately, are these glimpses of the Jax we know and love.  While he is fighting so hard, his face often looks quite sad....which makes these moments even sweeter!

It was the most interesting meeting at the Forensic Psychiatric office in Victoria.  The road trip was almost a little more fun through!

Minecraft Cake.

This was the cake Isaac picked out and sent as the example that he wanted as his birthday cake as he is loving minecraft right now!  (Below is from google images)

And here is the cake my lovely friend Aja made him, complete with a recipe card for me of a list of the ingredients in the cake! No chemicals here!!! Lots of sugar, butter, etc..... But I can pronounce and recognize every ingredient which thrilled me!!

Pretty excited!  He hasn't seen it yet!!!  Big reveal after dinner Tommorow.  For those who don't know minecraft, this is what a cake looks like on the video game!!

Strike day was wonderful, and long and I was happy to go back to work and drop them off at school this morning...

To my 10 year old.

Though I have missed a few years here and there, the tradition of writing my baby a letter on the eve of his birthday continues.  

You are also trying to convince me that you CAN fall asleep with Tucker and Elliot in your bed.  But because it's almost your birthday, I've decided to let you try. Love you my 10 year old (as of Tommorow at 1:06pm)

Our Summer Nanny!!!!

We are pretty excited to have Amy join our family for the summer!  Here's a shot of her from her cabin leading last august;

 She is a camp girl at heart, loves kids, a teacher on saltspring island during the year.  Here we are for her job interview yesturday. 

Chris is excited because she will be great at helping with games through the week too!  As you can see, there was no time wasted showing her around!

There was a better plan in store for us than we could have only hoped for!  She is so excited, she said she couldn't stop smiling on her way home. 

Summer can't come soon enough now!!

Someone's BIRTHDAY !!!

She yells at me over her shoulder as she shoots the duck, does a spin and flies past me "I feel like I have wings!!!!"

This special friend of mine was enjoying her birthday afternoon in her happy place!!  So I thought I should head over and help her celebrate!

1/2t vs 1/2C

Isaac is taking an interest in cooking!!!  So he wanted to make crepes.  I laid everything out for him and he followed the recipe, made beautiful batter that turned into pretty nice looking crepes..... He got to about the 7th crepe when he tried one.  

At that moment he learned that 1/2 t of salt is much much different than 1/2 C of salt!

He saved some for Elliot though.  And actually fed him some!  Elliot's response?  "You are a horrible cook!!!"

Waiting outside together.  Elliot didn't want to do the last tunnel and I'm so glad we didn't because it turned out to be a long stretch of army crawling before you could turn around!!  No thank you! Bleh!  So we enjoyed a few minutes of quiet sunshine at the mouth of the cave waiting for Chris and Isaac.  (Bear guard close by, thanks dad, lots and lots of fresh poop spotted!!)

Heading back to the quad!  Time to go UP!!

Back at the quad we enjoyed all the snacks Isaac had packed for us!!!

On the way home we checked out an old cavers cabin that was beside a cave called "hourglass cave"!!!

We just had the best day!!!  

Time for bed....but what a day!!!
