Who needs training wheels?!!
Today was the day....
And it happened so quickly.
I tried calling my folks on skype so they could see the exciting event!! So, next best thing: blog!
They were all playing bob the builder after dinner with 120 kids.....elliot picked up isaacs old bike and starts fooling around on it....and starts to just....RIDE!!
And then he got home and chucked the trainers of his bike and off he went....joining the bike posse that is Burdge/Zalinkos.
Marty is a big encourager as he skids around in tight corners on his own 2 wheeler:
Ride on boys!! Your final member is ready to roll!!!

Alot can happen in a day......
It was a significant time with 3 significant people.
I left our time feeling lighter, more focused, blessed and loved.
Alot can happen in a day.....
There are days that go by where not much happens, and then you have a day where it's like a week crammed into the daylight hours and you know its going to stay with you forever. Had a day like that this week....here are a few shots of that sweet sweet day {well, it was like one full day with a little extra days on each end!! But you know what i mean!!}
Christie and I met up at 9:30am on tuesday morning! I started the day by crawling out of the tent trailer and jumping into the lake!! Its a great way to start!! I drove away, sans enfants, on my way to pick up a friend I was excited to have some sweet quality one on one time with! Something we have never really had since we both have young ones!! Here we on just getting on the washington ferry!!
After some food (if you can call it that) and a few pictures.....it was time for the main event!!

The beginning of our journey.....
Susan picked us up and in typical Susan fashion, let us grab a snack from the local grocery store and took us to a beautiful spot to eat and chill out for a bit! Here is the most random guy--he wanted christie to take a picture with him and ALL his dogs!! You can see all the little ones (4??!!) but you can't really see the huge Rottie by his feet!!
Yes....he almost dropped a couple.....
Recovered......
FISH TACOS!!!! Mike made his famous guacamole and said that brad and carrie would be envious!!! They loved how much brad and carrie loved their fish tacos last time they came to visit...and they want another visit...so just throwing that out there sis!!!
Fish tacos and southwest salad!!!
Happy Place......
In the morning, after a restful sleep ... we woke up to heart cut melon and chai and muffins!!! It was a great start to what would be a very food-filled day!!!
Gina arrived right on time at 9am and we promptly headed out to Susans friends
'little house on the hill'.......
Susan gave each of us a really sweet gift.....for us 'moms'....she gave us each a fan, a 3 minute timer, and a little bottle of coconut m&m's......like: set the timer, tell the kids not to talk to you for 3 minutes while you fan and each chocolate....she also gave us all a book called 'Lies women believe' as well as its workbook......so, i am working on chapter 2 already, but normally find these books tough to work through...but i will give it a fair shake!!
Literally on top of the mountain.....
We swam, we finished etching some glasses for Susan Clegg who gave us the concert ticket, we did a pedicure on susan who's nails were totally bare and looked weird with no paint!! So, we changed that!! ;-)
Syncro anyone?
Sure, why not???
Enough swimming, racing under water, hot tubbing and sleeping on the side of the hot tub...it was soon time to eat!! OLIVE GARDEN!!! Here we are waiting for our table!
Come take our order!! Please note i took no other pictures after this one.....my hands were busy....soup, salad, bread and repeat....and then repeat once more.....
ummm...hello....ugh, i ate too much.
Next Stop: TRADER JOE's!! Here we are, Gina and I were totally amazed to see that bananas were only 19 cents a pound???!!! Until we saw the small print behind the bananas that said EACH!!! It didn't take much to impress us!! I was overstimulated by it all...and really ended only buying stuff for my sis!!!
NEXT STOP: THE FAIR!!!
Christie dragged us to the non negotiable first pit stop:
Fresh squeezed Lemonade!!!
Stop #2: Susans mandatory stop: deep fried Oreo cakesters!!!! Must admit, much better than it sounds....as Gina put it between gulps was that it 'tastes like LOVE'!!!! Oh man, we laughed.....After some food (if you can call it that) and a few pictures.....it was time for the main event!!
CHRIS TOMLIN!!!!
We had amazing seats and it wasn't so much of a concert as a blown up worship service!!
