First day of school - after school fun with cousins.

Laura and the kids and Bosun came for the afternoon.  We had planned it last week because today looked like it was going to be one of the hottest days!  But with the fires around, smoke rolled in and covered much of the heat.  Here is Ava and Bosun out on the lake ... such a good dog for their family.

I made bean burgers for dinner while Wren bbq'd the beef burgers .... I like that these guys are coming around more ...

After dinner we had plans to go hang out on Pineapple Beach, but there were others who had beat us there and it looked a little more full than we like ... so we kept going ....

Private beach to explore and snorkel at....Laura and I set up our chairs and were amused at the antics of all the children ... here is Wren ... who seems moody and 'teenager-y' but won't leave the adults ... she seems to love to hang around her mom ... which is great and also amusing at some points.

Isaac and Ava seem to be a well matched pair these days after their time together at Wild Side .. here they are snorkelling ...

And Oscar and Elliot ... both soaked from the waist down ... shoes and all ....

First day of new school!! Grade 8 and Grade 6!!

Don't they look great?  What the pictures don't tell is how hard it was to find each boy an outfit that was clean and not ratty looking.  I swear we have tons of clothes but when we tried to find them outfits, they were all too small, too ripped, too stained ... they've been camp ragamuffins for too long!!! 

This was their favorite picture but Isaac wanted me to clarify that he was just kidding even though he has a crazy face on! lol

DAY 1  - Burlinkos take LCSS!!

Here is my sneaky selfie (aka spying on Isaac with one of his oldest friends named Alex) .... Alex hooked him up with a sweet kid named Nick who was going to be in his class and could show him around ....

Everyone is so big and Isaac came home pretty excited saying that it doesn't even feel like school because he doesn't have to concentrate to figure out what the teachers are saying because it's all in English!  His schedule this term looks awesome - here is his day:  Socials, Gym, French, Math, something I can't remember but his last class every day is Wood Working!  They are going to spin a wood bowl and make cutting boards this term.  And if they finish their projects, they can make whatever else they want as long as they come to class with a plan.  These teachers sound awesome and it is fun to watch my kids be excited for school.  It is yet to be seen how Elliot really feels about school because I think he is missing the comforts of his old school and old friends and Marty was pretty quick yesterday to be 'done' with school.  "How much longer??" he apparently said a lot, so I am worried that that attitude will rub off on Elliot ... so I really hope Elliot can make some new friends that will help him to be excited for school....that one I am nervous about.

Last day of summer before school part 2!!

After eating some food and a few hottubs, our boy felt good enough to come on the boat with us.

Chris is such a treasure hunter, he wanted to go back to Caycuse to snorkel for more treasures at the bay where the old logging camp was .... some people lived on houseboats in that bay and so there are so many old things in the shallows of the bay there ... which makes it so fun to find things in!  Chris even made a little floating ring with a net to throw the finds into so he didn't have to keep swimming back to the boat!  Isn't he smart? lol

Pretty sure this was the highlight of his day!! Driving us very fast across the lake!!

That evening, we had dinner and the Chris came down to metal detect the beach ... so the boys and I followed him down.

They've been sleeping in our beds this last week because it's been so hot!!  So here is a shot of the pre-bed stories .....

Last day of summer before school ...

And this little guy woke up feeling barfy.  He's been rotating himself between the bath, couch and hottub.  

Not the best way to end his summer .... Poor guy.

Owen Wedding ...

Early morning paddleboarding .... I still don't really understand the draw.  People go nuts over paddleboarding .... sure, it's nice and calm ... I headed over to wildside and it was very peaceful ...

Still this view ..... often hard to believe it's my backyard ...

Moment of Bliss .... here he is ... first full day off camp (although we have a wedding to attend later this afternoon) ....

Gussie was up with her husband visiting her father in law .... she always makes a point to come and visit me when she is in the area...and I love that!!

Chris was asked to do sound for the wedding .... so I hung out in the sound booth with him.  It was a really hot day, so the boys and I jumped in the lake before heading down to the outdoor chapel.  I may look like I have a pretty dress on, but I am really wearing a soaking wet bathing suit! ;-)

We tried to dress them up ... Leilani is the only one that truly looks dressed up!  Well, I guess Marty is doing pretty good with his combed beautiful hair and leather belt.  ;-)  Oh this kids ....

After the wedding, a bunch of us went back to the dock ... Chris worked on the boat .... and since Harry was here with Jinny, he helped Chris with the carborator.

This boy loves anything that moves!!  Especially if it belongs to Chris ... he is so cute ...

Kelly and Geoff were in the right place at the right time when Harry and Chris were going to take the boat for a spin after tinkering on it ....

This was Harry!!  He said it was the most fun he has had all summer and that he wished he could just play on the water all day ... we all felt that way too ..... everyone was so tired from the summer ...

Wedding Time -- it was just in Honeymoon Bay so we didn't have to go far, thankfully!!!

Saturday off!! Last one!

So we are always excited when we get to be together at camp - but it is always abit anticlimactic because she is always working!!!  But here Deanna and I carved out a few minutes on the last day to sit and laugh before Chris and I headed out on his last day off of the summer ....

We took our unreliable boat out to Caycuse to go snorkling!!

Isaac is such a paperclip, he gets cold so quickly, but he joins Chris snorkeling for as long as he can! Watching them all snorkelling together makes me so excited for Thailand!!  They are going to experience snorkelling there!! It's going to be awesome!

These are the best days ... don't forget them .... everyone is happy and healthy and it's all such an amazing moment in our lives ...
