Heading to PERU!!! Adventure of 2020 ...

My sweet husband has been very busy making a warm "Peru-themed" hat for the trip .... isn't is beautiful?  And it is very warm!  And before you knew it, he came out again with a matching one for my travel partner!
Turns out Peru is very very hard to pack for due to the ever changing climates!  Normally I am packing for heat ... this time, I am packing for heat, cold and rain ... all in one day ....
After the huge debate of backpack vs luggage ... this was the final result!  And this was after packing a backpack three times, and then back to the luggage .... it was stressful .... in hindsight ... luggage was the BEST idea!  Our backs thanked us!!
My boys coming with me, close to my heart .....
Shannon was coming back from Toronto and met me at the international departure gate in Vancouver ... she arrived 3 hours before our flights .... she took 9 flights in 11 days ...
 We are READY!!!
The hat proved to be her best line of defense for sleep (for the girl who never sleeps on a plane)
I am exhausted in this picture but I am really appreciating the filter settings on my new phone as well as the silk eye cover ... I would often just wear it on my forehead in case I had a chance to pull it over my eyes for sleep .... it was very comforting ....
Roger, our driver ... met us at the airport and whisked us away to Martins house!
Martin!!   He made us feel so welcome and made us a really nice egg breakfast ... best $30 spent
The morning after the best sleep ever ... and probably the one and only time I used the selfie stick!
 And the holiday begins!!!!
Roger taking us back to the airport for our short flight over to  CUSCO!!!  All went so smooth.

Little Women

I love this picture the best because I can see Marg and Jenny looking at each other.....

On this beautiful evening with my family...

Everyone has been very productive today. Here is Elliot with his hydrodipped remote control. He chose the colors & he figured out how to do it, and now he and Chris are doing a little bit of soldering to put it back together. Also notice Chris and his brand new hat. He has figured out how to get the computer to print out Imogene with his knitting machine at a very cool design of trees up top. As I type this, he is knitting me one with girlie colours :-)

And I had to go get a picture of our eldest. He has been inseparable from the guitar lately. He is learning so many songs, and last night put together a binder of his favourite music. He has also started singing, which makes my heart soar.

And then there’s me. I just got home from an afternoon out with the Burdge ladies. We went to see Little Women. It’s always nice to spend time with family. I also did a big shop after the movie, came home and made a yummy dinner, and food for the week is all prepped and ready. We are set for a good week.  (This is my favourite picture in front of the dock that Chris and I canoed to on our big trip to Della Falls). Tonight all is well.

Mittens goes back to the vet ....

Chris sent me a shot of this beauty just hanging out at camp on Thursday morning .... nobody is sure why she is all alone, but pictures of her have been popping up all over the Mesachie forums as she makes herself at home in many of their yards ....
Had to track this kitty down in the afternoon and found her trapped in my office ... we assume she had been there since 10pm the night before!  So, that is a solid 18 hours of being locked away and put right into her backpack .... eep.
She made herself quite at home and seemed to win the heart of the vet pretty quick ... she is so docile and sweet ... never a bit or a scratch has come from her, unless in play ....
She crawled back into her bag while waiting for the vet to come back with the needles ....
She took the examination (she is healing very well), and the needles like a champ!  It was time for a little thrifting afterwards ....

Lots to see .... but at one point, we were only like 4 minutes from home ... she scurried out of Elliots arms and took a poop on Isaacs floor mat!  lol ... Elliot smelled it before I did, so we pulled over quickly and chucked it into the bushes ....
Pretty eventful day for this gal .... she rolls with the punches ... I'll give her that.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Bring it on 2020!  We were lucky enough to grab a worldmark for New Years Eve!!  I had been watching for awhile now and just as the curtain was going down on last nights theatre play with the family, one came up so I grabbed  it!!  We were on the first floor with a sweet view of the harbour!!

On the way down, we hit up Costco quickly before they closed and ended up both getting new iphones.  I had signed up with Virgin before we left to get the Boxing week sales, but was a little unhappy with their warranty (since we have never really had brand new phones, we often do drop them ... so this made me nervous, but we still went ahead and signed up.  Well, Costco, though still selling us a virgin plan, gave us the phones, a bunch of Costco gift cards, accessories and all we really ended up paying for when we walked out, was the 2 year year warranty on both phone .... it was an amazing deal and it was exciting to squeak in just under the time of closing.  Last year, I had gone phone shopping and all the venders said "its too bad you didn't come in for Boxing week" .... So, it was fun to not miss the deal this year.  We all hung out by the fire for awhile and just chilled ....

Isaac has a new book he is finishing up from Maui ... and I made ribs, salmon, peas and rice for dinner ....

Windy night .... but Victoria is so lovely ....

I may have fallen asleep for a little bit, but I was for sure woken up at 11:52pm.....

This kid actually wanted to stay up all night, but nobody else did ... not sure why, he is such a party animal!  He was yelling "Happy New Year" as loud as he could on the deck, and then some people above us yell " Hey little guy!  Happy New Year to you too!" ... he got really embarrassed and came back inside ... it was funny ...

The popping of the cork was a little underwhelming ... but still fun to watch him shake it up with anticipation!
