Our Night Time Routine

.......Little isaac stands in the crack of the door to watch the action go by until he is too tired to stand-he is sure to be very quiet. When he starts making demands, we shut the door--so he has learned to be stealthy and quiet in order to be able to watch (watch what, i am not sure--we aren't too interesting when we walk by)

Elliots Fan Club!!

I feel like if Elliot could talk he would be saying " Ladies! Ladies! There is enough of me for everyone!!" Introducing Isaac and Elliots only 2 friends who have been friends with them since birth - - Meghan and Olivia...please note that the pic below compares a 4 month old (Elliot) with a 9 month old (Meghan) and they are the exact height!! Sweet little babies!

Almost 31!!!

It's 11pm and i am bored and not tired and both boys are asleep, so i thought i would play with our camera and take some self shots--out of 56 pics, my eyes were totally tearing up trying to keep them open (yes Carrie, i haven't grown out of that annoying trait!) ...anyways--out of 56 pics, only 15 were ok to look at and then only 3 or 4 were sorta nice--here was one i thought was cool!

It's been raining for days......

...and its starting to get to us! Chris and i have been happy to settle back into our home after Maui, but we officially hit the 'stir crazy' mark yesturday. I am still happy to stick around home, but his cabin fever is starting to wear off on me too now. We have both been awake (and i mean WIDE awake) since about 5ish when isaac woke up for his nighttime bottle (which is driving me nuts since he is just conditioned now to wake up for a bottle, not that he is hungry or anything--its just a habit now, and its also the fastest way to make him be quiet and go back to bed--but then we both wake up because we're up being 'active' and thus harder to fall back asleep!) Not to mention the damage we are doing to his teeth!! But i digress (is that the right spelling)--so, we are awake together-and as we get talking we realize we are anxious mainly about this house in Youbou--we knew we had everything going against us (size, time of year, stairs..etc)-but we just had a good feeling about it because it was a sweet little house. and it has only been on the market for 3 weeks, but we still expect things quickly. (unrealistic i know, but whatever....thats the way we are!!)

Anyways---i heard elliot fussing a couple times so i figured, hey, i'm awake, may as well go hang out with him. So we had a nice nursing time rocking by the window listening to the rain--i watched it get light out-and here it is almost 8am and i haven't slept since 5am. But i fed elliot, changed him, made googly eyes at him for awhile and then thought i should head back to bed, so i laid him in bed and he just put his fingers in his mouth and stared in the direction of the window..happily! i can't get over how content he is--i went back in a few minutes ago, and same thing--he was still looking out the window just hanging out! I can't get over how in love i am with that little soul.

OK-maybe i will try to get back to sleep for awhile.......

Dutch Oven

So, Isaac learned about Dutch Ovens tonight...here is the story that inspired the learning curve!
Chris and Isaac were playing together in the livingroom hiding under his blanket when i overhear this conversation:
C: Isaac, did you poop your pants?
I: No, i tarted (translation needed?)
C: Arg, blech, it stinks isaac!! (and he comes out from under the blanket)
I: Daddy, back IN! back IN!
C: NO WAY! It REEKS!

I think its pretty hilarious that isaac gave his daddy his first dutch oven without even realizing how funny it was.

Anyways---me and "tart-y" pants are going out to a movie together tonight. Since Elliot has been sleeping for hours on end, i am pretty sure he can last 3 hours while Isaac and I are gone. Elliot didn't eat for 9 hours on thursday while chris and i went to dinner and the theatre - he just wouldn't take a bottle from Courtney! What an amazing baby--i don't really remember seeing the light of day with isaac until he was much much older!

Saturday Nov 4th - man time flies

It's 6am and its the first time in weeks that isaac hasn't woken up in the night but now, here i am conditioned to wake up and wait!! Tonight was also the first time it rained like crazy all night and the wind was howling and the front screen door kept hitting the house and i mean....if any night...tonight was the night to be actually scared of noises etc!! Enough to wake you up! Woke me up as i creeped around the house checking on the kids and figured out it was just the screen door and not an animal or someone wanting to get in!!

Today is sat...what to do? what to do? No itinerary--and i want to stay around home and do some painting but chris wants to get off property cause the IF is coming up for a meeting today and it often stresses him out.

Life With Boys....

My life with boys...the saga continues! Elliot, at only 4 months started about 3 weeks ago to sleep all night! From 9ish pm until 9ish am! Its incredible! Coming from my only experience with isaac 'mr. feed me every 2 hours 24 hrs a day'....i am often beside myself with how lucky i am!! Also often dripping with milk by 9am poking him to wake up and help mommy!!!

Honestly though, i figured a blog would be a good way to keep my folks in touch with what is happening with these boys who are growing up so fast in front of me! I am trying to slow them down--but its not happening and i think they would appreciate being able to log on at any time to see the latest pictures, events and accomplishments of these 2 boys! So here you go mom and dad...Enjoy!
