Wren turns 16!!

Had a nice little afternoon with family celebrating (in a very low key way which was what she asked for), a lovely girl who turned 16!
When we arrived, auntie Jenny got Isaac a super cute book about a bear who lost his red hat!  It was really sweet. 
Mike made a bunch of homemade pizzas and the kids played laser tag near the park ...

These two beauties came up after work last night. There was a roasted chicken dinner waiting for them. The visit also included movies, doing our nails, hikes up the mountain and coffee - not necessarily in that order! :-)

The Weekend ... WOA workshops and Robot Arms

This guy worked a full day and then came home for dinner, and then came back down to camp to launch the WOA workshop descriptions!!  He does SUCH beautiful online work .. his brain continues to amaze me as we get older ... I find I am less driven to learn something new and happy to just cook and chat and walk ..... so it's fun to watch this guy ... smart guy...and the hours he can pull??

The kids were trying to teach me how to heely in the lobby while we waited for Chris ... its HARD!!  Balancing on one wheel...

It reminded me of when Chris and I were renovating houses and the boys would just hang out and wait for us to take them home .... I think they were patient on this dreary Friday night for about 3 hours ... they would heely, watch movies and raid the kitchen ... good camp kid stuff!!

He's still at it .... not only do you need to launch the descriptions online, you have to re-size them depending on how the user is opening your website - on a tablet, phone or desktop ...it is way more complicated than I knew ....

This was Sunday night .... fire was on ... Chris was working with Elliot on the grandparents Christmas gift of a hydrolic Robotic arm .... Mittens was fully interested ... but mostly in the box.

Isaac felt left out of all the robot fun, so he made his own robot hand with straws and cardboard and thread and tape ... each straw had a knuckle that would bend depending on how you were bending your own fingers ... oh man, we laughed ....

We all went to see Paddington 2 at the theatre on Saturday  ..... it was a cute movie ...and afterwards Marg suggested going for dinner!  There is a great noodle restaurant across the street from the theatre so we wandered over there!  Isaac got a hold of my phone and took some candid (blurry) shots of people ... Cristin came to the movie too, so she came for dinner too, since she is like family .....

Megs!! Getting so big hey? Such a fun girl .. this is probably her looking at Elliot .... he does weird stuff that seems to make her laugh ....

This made me laugh ... heading back to the car, Marg starts to beetle across the road...super jay walking, and nobody else steps out onto the road...

Light turns, and people start to move ... everyone was laughing, it was just such a happy night ... Marg and Gordon spoil us ... such a nice couple.

Trunk Party!  She had all this stuff from a Syrian family who was moving and had to leave alot of their stuff behind ... I got some toilet paper .... (speaking of behind)

 

 

 

Grabbed a few things from the grocery store on the way home, Isaac snuck away and came back with his choices ... this kid thinks he's SOOO hilarious .... sigh...

Thursday Getaway! Aisha, Darlene and Moms fur coat .....

Met this favorite but elusive friend of mine for dinner at Browns Social House .... we laugh and dream big when we are together ... she is such a great spirit, wish we lived closer ..... our kids are pretty close in age, so its fun discovering how teenage boys work!

After dinner it was time to head to Aisha's....she is my teacher ... smart and lovely with struggles of her own .... and very honest about those struggles ...

No Sidebar is a facebook group that Susan told me about, so I joined it to see what it was all about - its about people (mostly women) trying to simplify their lives - So Susan asked a question about her family fur coats and what to do with them, an onslaught of responses, but I thought mine was the funniest!  Love the last comment of the thread .... my mom IS a badass....

Snagging these two for lunch and a hike ... we decided to have an 'Instantpot' lunch to celebrate both of us getting one from Marg for Christmas!!  Super fun!

I wonder if Marty misses his early morning and after school cuddles with Mittens while we were in Thailand?

Instant Pot roast beef dinner ... all done while I sat on my butt pretty much ..... got up for 5 minutes to mash the potatoes while Chris carved the roasted and steamed some broccoli....
