It was a pretty eventful day....Markayla being here frees us up to do so much more than usual! So she and i packed up the kids and took them to the flip and proceeded to move 2 trailer-full loads of wood chucked out onto the deck from the kitchen that chris ripped apart back in the Spring.....
After lunch, Markayla went to work at Tuck and I took the boys to the beach....now here is the scary part of our day: Elliot deliberatly went to WAY on the other side of the beach and proceeded to walk into the water WITHOUT his lifejacket. I start reprimanding him to get out and get his lifejacket on....by the time he is at his waist, he looks right at me and shakes his head and says "No"...and keeps moving deeper. By his armpits, i am up with his lifejacket in my hand and walking briskly across the beach, saying 'get out right now and get your lifejacket on'....by his neck, i have dropped the lifejacket and am now running full-lifeguard mode through the water to him as the water passes his mouth and nose...with big eyes he is pulled out to breathe. He is ok but pretty scared. After this happened, i looked around and it really seemed as though the whole beach has stopped...as if on pause.
Anyways...he has never done that before and hopefully will never do that again--i have a sneaky feeling he thought the new sun suit shirt was a lifejacket.....i still shudder to think what would have happened had i been looking away.......
This evening we decided to take the boys to see "Up!" -it was in 3D, and with elliot having taken a nap on the way up to the theatre, we were all in fine form and enjoyed the whole thing together as a family--yup-a first!! I had read a review and it had said that this movie could literally be part of a university course to unravel all the messages within it. It was so good.....its been awhile since i laughed like that and just walked away from a movie feeling so positive and happy to have seen it.
That was our day in a nutshell.....i wonder what tommorow holds?
