Day 6 - London to Iceland !

We woke up and had a great Latvian breakfast - this was a Latvian guest house and learning centre .... the breakfasts were home cooked by some wonderful Latvian women .... it was so nice to have a good breakfast ... so we checked out by 11am and headed to the tube ... our flight to Iceland was early this afternoon ....

 I just can't get enough of these beautiful buildings ... it was a nice walk to Paddington Station ....

 At the airport ....on to the next location

 It was a short 3 hours flight from London to Iceland ... pants were coming on!!

  After a pretty uneventful time getting our rental car, and figuring out how to get to the next B&B (hour drive from the airport) ... we arrived, tired and hungry to this awful sign on the worst looking building we had ever seen.  We couldn't get in ... no wifi, no ability for local calling and nothing really around us ..... so we unhappily got back into the car and started driving again to find a way to contact this silly host.  It is 5pm now, and we are starving so we found a little café after about 20 minutes more of driving .... and turns out they don't serve dinner until 6 ... most of the places around there didn't either ... so the sweet server let me call the number from the door.  He answered and I asked him how he expected tourists from other countries be able to 'call' him?!  I was not happy .... he said to come back and that he would open the door.  So, that was the start to our time in Iceland ....

 After a $70 meal of fish and chips, we crashed in our room, which turned out to be quite nice despite the weird outer building .... but around 11pm we thought it would be fun to see if we could see the Northern Lights ... so we got dressed and got back into the car ....

 It didn't take us long to get to the outer city limits into the dark ... but alas, we had no luck tonight ...
