Thursday.....Trying to get back to 'normal'

I stayed home all day, but really wanted to fake out my body that I was better when the kids got home from school.  So, a shower, some vacuuming and dinner prep, and I was exhausted, but still present.

Here we are after dinner doing homework.  Elliot did a great job with his dictee (Isaac, on the other hand forgot everything he needed at home....he got into some major trouble for that - see him there with his meds and the phone?  He had to call Liam for the spelling words he needs for his test tommorow.)
Here is Elliots dictee words.  He thought he was being SO WITTY when he showed me his answer for "Je Vais" {thats so many levels of awesome, because he's right, thats how you pronounce the letter 'V'......}
He was pretty pleased with himself....he also go the word right when he spelled it out.  Smart kid...we talked as a family tonight and decided that we are going to speak more french around the house so as to help Elliot with his speaking skills.  Otherwise, he may be heading to an english school......
This did NOT help to calm the kids down tonight.....

These kids are just so happy .... love hearing them laugh and just be nuts together.  I think this whole process has been harder on Chris and I than on them....I am sure of it!!  And am thankful for that!!

Valentines Pocket dial...

I am home in bed.  Pretty sick.  And the highlight of the day so far is getting a pocket call from Chris as he and the boys go shopping for a 'valentines card for mom'.

It's been a 15 minute call so far..... And we're still going.  Thoroughly enjoying this.

'No that says birthday! It's not her birthday....see where it says valentines? Look there'

Uh oh... I hear singing cards.....

Mouth guard

I guess one upside to sleeping next to your kid for weeks on end is becoming closely acquainted to his ability to grind his teeth at night.

My girlfriends dad is a denturist and agreed to just make one for Isaac for only the lab cost.
The other upside was watching Isaac squirm when I told him the denturist would probably need pliers to get the mould off his teeth.  Oh man, that was fun.
Just before teeth mould fun was a quick visit with nic at amaras 1st birthday and a quick tea with Laura.  Cousins played so nice and oscar was so sad to see them leave... The visit was too short.

Family dinner.

Hate to say that I was trying to find an excuse to not attend family dinner tonight.  We are all just so wiped and just wanted to be home.  But had we just been home....we would have missed out on much.
Our camp family......
And the boys wouldn't have been able to dress up.
Time well spent.

Pretty excited to get our room back

You can see... But you can't hear the snoring coming through loud and clear right now.

The end of moms visit.....

Mom and I always go for walks...and this was her last mornings walk......I miss her already.  I wish we had walked more.....

The boys were not happy about hearing that mom was leaving...its been really nice having her here.....
Here is mom loading up the cannon!!
She looks so innocent hey?

BOOM!!!  The cannon explodes!!
It was a rough afternoon for this guy!
There was so much that was funny about this......
Alot of it was HOW ALOOF Ellie was throughout the whole thing....as in, 'meh, puke soaking through all my clothes, no biggie'
Poor Elliot....he was dying too.....as if plugging his ears would help too?
It was really, really bad.....
Tossed it at the ferry......sorry Rachel....you won't be getting the carseat back!
Bye Nona.....come back soon.....
And Elliot is off!  Sorry this pics are so bad, my iphone pics are brutal these days....just catching moments, thats all.  Not winning any photography contests!!
I wish she hadn't left so quickly...but for her sake, I am thankful that she did as I have gotten a bit sick - though I slept from about 3pm til 7am this morning and woke up feeling better, but still pretty tired...but feeling better!!  Even tonight, Chris said "i just feel SO TIRED and I don't know why?"

I was happy to hear that I wasn't the only one feeling this way....we are not normally the tired type of folks.....I actually woke up this morning and wished for a holiday....like a 'get me outta here' kind of wish.  I know we just got back from a holiday, but that seems so long ago......and so far 2014 hasn't been my favorite and I find myself longing for 2013.

Not ready to not watch him.

I am aching for my room back.  To get up in the morning and not have to wait til Isaac gets up because all my clothes are blocked by his mattress beside my bed.

I am also aching to feel like I don't have to be on a hair trigger every time I put him to bed before me.....listening for any bump or movement.  It appears that when he enters stage 2 of the sleep cycle, he gets a short seizure.  We've upped his meds and given them him earlier so this weekend is our gage.  So far not many seizures have been noted, which is wonderful.

But that feeling of fear that you may miss something that will affect one of the most important people in your life.  I can't even stay up late to watch movies with Chris, like I usually love to do, without checking on Isaac.  Can't relax.

So often these last 8 weeks, I have bolted out of bed to react. It's really hard to grow out of 'anticipating reaction time'.

I so want my space back, but I can't imagine ever being ok with not having eyes on him anymore considering what we've seen this month.

I love that my mom is here.

I don't think I realized how tired I was after these last two weeks....but she did. She is here feeding us while Chris is gone away to a camping conference. She is feeding us so well, cleaning, puttering, talking, and just being here to play with the boys and getting to know them - it's so lovely since after work, I am just done.  Here it's time for tuck in;
Elliot is helping her read 'Yertle the Turtle'
The boys are loving their Nona time.  The car pulled in from after school this afternoon and their first question was "is Nona still here?!"
