Goodbye Nancy ...

Darlene has been at Nancy’s side these past few weeks, how fortunate when your best friend is a nurse?  Injections, pain management, tube drainage ... so many ugly parts of dying and to take those medical type jobs away from a husband who is already crippled from sadness but who is trying to be strong for their 2 teen twin boys .... Darlene took a break one day last week and drew this on her beach walk.

Darlene went home on Wednesday morning to feed her boys since they apparently only had cheese and coffee on Tuesday (lol), Nancy passed away Wednesday night.  So a nearby friend went back to the beach Darlene walked and decorated it to celebrate Nancy and her peaceful passing.

Friends since their twin boys were toddlers ....
Nancy and Darlene were tasked with picking some flowers for the tables at WOA.  Darlene said it was such a good project for the two of them ... can you see the flowers they picked?

Sunday morning.   I loved the Sunday morning schedule for WOA at this year.  After chapel, we would all wander, at our leisure, back up to the patio to do crafts, drink coffee, and in this case give Nancy a haircut and pedicure.

Joanna came to visit!!

She and Jordan were up island on a little holiday with their sweet baby Anika and their pup Mila ... we had lunch, enjoyed the beach and I let her make some earrings!! (Camp experience an all!)

Thankfully the boys had early dismissal so they caught them before they left for the ferry!!!  Anika couldn’t seem to take her eyes off Isaac lol (Elliot took the picture and went back inside)

Then it was back to work for me ... Lisa came out for coffee break at around 3....

And Chris thought of a brilliant way to toe out the inflatables!!  He backed up a trailer and just dragged the huge inflatables onto the flatbed and easily dragged them out!  He’s so smart!!!

Isaac and Chris fix the hoverboard...

After a full summer of many many of isaacs friends using and abusing the hoverboard that Carrie gave them for their birthday ... making ramps and even using it around the camp property all summer.... one side died and wouldn’t charge.

So Isaac recalls some “wisdom” from grandad tonight ... something about anything electronic, you can take it apart ....  what’s the worst that can happen? I can’t recall his sentence but that it was grandads encouragement that was his reason for taking a screwdriver to the board tonight and taking it apart.

Well, long story short, he found the problem and yelled out “I need to learn how to solder now!” So Chris yells from his office “come on over!” And voila:  all fixed:

He’s quite pleased with himself.

Sunday - chill day

Elliot and I walked down to a neighbours who had a little boy named River who was turning 5 .... we brought him a wand and big jug of bubble solution.

Then we hung out down at camp ... I have an audio book and Elliot just hung out ...

We had the beef vegetable soup I had made the other day along with lemonade that we made in the kitchen too....

Elliot went paddle boarding for awhile ....

And this was my spot today .... fire, couch, beautiful view ... it was a good day.

Isaac was working on school stuff until around 3:30 when he wanted to go for a ride. And he wanted to drive.  So we told Chris (who was out mushroom picking), so Chris came home and we headed to Duncan.   I bought a few more things from sport chek (darn deals!).... and we got some chicken and drove home again. lol.

Clothing swap with local gals ...

Jolene wrangled up some ladies for a clothing swap..

This was Saturday afternoon....

Only took 2 pieces - a scarf and a little Yellow dress ... once you get rid of a bunch of stuff, you don’t really want more. But it was a good reason to get together.

A few shots from this week ...

One of the boys sent this pic of Chris to me one night while I was in bed. He always falls asleep on the couch.

Here is Paul and Rachel watching Jaxon and his friends buzz their hair for cancer ....

I call the boys into the kitchen to keep me company while I cook for them. Especially when they are just in front of screens in the other rooms.

Elliot warned me about the LEGO man and the note he left (“Escaping.... brb”) lol

Man these kids are funny ....

Oh and these ladies were just finished breakfast in my yard.

Elliot had his first appointment with Tanya this week.  Here she is examining his shoes. We bought him new ones right after this appointment and threw these soft ones out.

She is more concerned about the tightness in his shoulders due to the gaming .... so we begin our work on that.

Hiking Mesachie with Jolene

Friday’s are now for hiking mesachie with Jo ....

Wish I wasn’t so scared to hike this mountain on my own.

We were rewarded well with some sun when we got down.

Harvest Moon Party

My list for the day ... I’m realizing that if I have a list with boxes to check, I’m much more productive.  Everything on this list got done!  Including a few extras like I also made a big batch of chilie, beef vegetable soup, mushroom soup and 3 shepherds pies .....

Lisa’s first taste of straight beef broth .....

He got put to work on soup duty so I could finish the beets.

Tonight this was my bike ride towards Jada’s house .... she’s a new girl in town who invited a few of us to a “harvest moon party”

It was a beautiful little yard ...
