Chris made himself take the morning off.....so i took advantage and got up early with Meg {more on that later}.....but at lunch he was back at work getting the Beach Party rolling into gear!
It was cold....very cold, but the sun came out periodically to flirt with our emotions, and the campers didn't seem to mind! There were Smoothies and Sno-Cones (of which my kids each had about 3!!)...as a side note, they are currently in the chapel about to play the Safari game to burn off some of that energy and sugar!!
There was snorkel gear, beach umbrellas set up, the slip and slide, volleyball nets, beach balls.....tropical fruit and Hawaiian music! Here is a shot of Isaac in all his glory having the time of his life!
After dinner {which is right now}, the campers are all in the chapel hearing the rules for the Safari wide game....
OK, so now it is 10:30pm and i am trying to wrap up all these things that happened today in an understandable blog! But in a nutshell:
Elliot and Isaac played the Safari Game. At one point, Meg, Brett, Chris and I were walking on property to see how the game was progressing, and we see Elliot tearing out of the bushes chasing some campers with a long white sock with a flour nylon ball at the end that leaves flour marks on his victims (he somehow became one of the snakes in the game!)....so he comes out swinging with campers running for their lives!! He whaps one on the back and yells "YOU'RE DEAD!!!" as Isaac runs out of another part of the bushes with a bigger camper beside him as they are playing the game! {Smart campers learn quickly that isaac is a secret weapon, because the staff see him running and think 'aw...so cute, he's playing'....and they leave him alone because he lives here.....he has finished a few games to completion often bringing other campers along with him!
Seriously watching my two beautiful boys blend and play is amazing...and probably the best part of my day.
Tonight before everything got going for the game explanations, Elliot got onto the stage and danced around in front of 120 campers! They cheered on his moves and high fived him as he ran down the aisles.....who knew he was so confident?!
Chris took the boys home to bed around 9:30pm, and i stayed down at camp with a crew of people finishing up the activity signups putting all 120 kids into their desired activities. Big job, but its fun....happy to play a part!!
Anyways....i want to get Isaacs pictures up on the blog too...so i will sign off here!! Great day.....
