I won't be able to really convey how wonderful the visit was, there was much quality time spent and we laughed alot and as always, we ate like kings!
When we arrived, mom dressed isaac in her best yellow hat, which he loved, and they went out and built a snowman!!
Nice goggles hey?
On Sundays, mom and dad have this really great walking group of friends who meet, walk for an hour and then go for breakfast. I LOVE this type of stuff--tradition stuff! We have started a few of our own around here with our new camp family, and i love it......
The kids didn't really keep up....thankfully dad walked with us.....but elliot walks slow when not motivated, and you can see here that isaac prefers to ride.....yes, they can do 12 hours at disney, but not 20 minutes....we obviously didn't motivate them properly before leaving......
While dad and i were out at his piano tuning in Vernon, mom and the boys got dinner ready! Here was Isaacs job! {that i think he loved!?}
Our "Christmas" was on Monday!
Everyone came together around dinnertime. Here was "The Deal": Perform then get a gift. Elliot played his song after he won the battle for the piano bench against Isaac....and when it was isaacs turn, elliot danced with his sparkly glasses.....Awesome!!!
After, it was obviously Jacks turn to perform, so he sidles up on the bench, fingers on the keyboard, and looks out at all of us expectantly and says "how do you do this?" SO cute.
The reward!!!
Lego building!! Here is part of our christmas dinner centerpiece that Isaac built......
On monday, just before Carrie was leaving....we had to nab baby to get a few more cuddles in...oh, she is just the most beautiful, happy, sweet little thing!!!!
It was a wonderful visit....i love my family....
We left early tuesday morning for home......out the door by 8:30am.....funny how we can do 12 hour days on the open road and its ok, but the whole 5 hours of driving, 2 hours in the ferry line up, 1.5 hours on the ferry, 1 hour drive home....its brutal!! I am thankful for portable DVD players.....we all watched movies {not chris}....
We picked up Rachel Christie on our way home....so she is with us for a few days until we decide to bring her home.....we plan to watch Tin Tin with the boys soon and get christmas photos with Santa in nanaimo......but when we got home, chris went down to work with paul til super late, rach helped me put the boys to bed by reading them Calvin and Hobbes while i took a bath.....
The highlight of getting home though? The place was spotless!! There was a homemade candy cane wreath on our door with a welcome home sign!! Caleb had a fresh haircut and looked amazing. The place smelled like hot apple cider! There was fresh fruit, milk, bread, eggs, cheese....all in the fridge! We just walked in, dropped our bags, and were welcomed back home with such love. Thank you Kelly and Rachel!! Same time next year ok??!! ;-)
Our holiday was incredible.....but OH!! We are HOME!!
