But sometimes you lose.......because this amazing deal that I found online and paid for 1/2 with my points....did NOT look like the sweet picture below......
We walked in a little late, having spent out evening at our 'typical' first night vacation spot at Bubba Gumps shrimp....who knows how THAT became our first nights dinner tradition. We ate crab and salad and walked through Lahaina after eating ice cream that was made local and was amazing!!!
Imagine our happiness when we get into our rental car and see a built in GPS that says 'no-lost hawaii', we punch in the hotel address and drive through the dark and arrive at a beautifully landscaped hotel. (please note, still happy!!) We open the door ........and the first thing we see is clean carpets that must have JUST been cleaned, except they missed the 3 inches along the wall and its pretty much black (the carpet is cream). I started itching the minute we walked in.....i can't even describe how disgusting this place was.....bleh, i just think of it and i squirm. Poor Isaac woke up with a sore back from that springy sofa mattress that was tilted down at the head, that both boys had to sleep with their heads where their feet would have been!!! Chris put 2 clean tshirts over our pillow cases.....ugh. If it hadn't been midnight our time, and we all weren't so exhausted, we would have walked....
So, we paid for 2 nights and we left after one.....willing to lose that second night if needed, but I will fight for it, i have talked to all parties involved and it will take 6-8 weeks to finalize...sigh...whatever.
So, we are now at one of my first choice places....wishing we had come here last night, but if we hadn't gone to the dump, we wouldn't have appreciated this place (or any place after this for that matter!!!)....
So.....we have already played in the ocean while waiting for our room to be prepped (terrifying to watch the waves pull your kids out even though it spits them right back out.)....we had lunch on the patio and now chris went to pick up some snorkel gear and i am watching the kids swim at the pool.
Thats it for now.....back to screams and cannonballs.....
