Sunday.....Day 3

We thought we were going to try and get there for sunrise....but we chose to sleep in enstead....but we got to wannahuckaloogie....no, Haleakala national park around 11!!  We got to climb around on Maui's highest peak at 10,000 feet!!!

 These crazy boys of mine......the view was amazing!!!  Air was a little thin.....

 THIS is the story of the day!!! 

We made Elliot our leader for the hike down into the canyon/crator.  It was a really long hike.....fun on the way down as you can imagine, but we have really been working on elliots attitude and choices he makes with his voice (much whining and crying!!).....and so we talked for much of the way down on the challenges that he will face as our leader on the way back up.  And, lead us back up the mountain he DID!!!  With a pretty great attitude.......

 We were all very proud of him!!  DO you see the trail we just finished??  We walked that trail all the way down....and here we are taking a picture at the finish line.....

 And here is the drive back down!  The scenery reminded me of the movie UP.....it was like we were going to drive right off the edge of the world.....
