Day 12 - Huge travel day to France !

After leaving the Burdge’s beautiful home, we popped down the road in search of Chris’s dads childhood home. The Grange.  And we found it!!

We needed to get from Yatton to Heathrow airport to return the car…. Then we took a train to Paddington station….then ultimately needed to get to the coast to take the ferry across to France.

We waited too long to buy the train to Paris…. Today they priced at 197 pounds ($315 per ticket) for a two hour train ride.  A few days ago they were half that …. We snoozed …so we spent our day on a total of 6 trains…

Great travellers ….no complaints.   Once we all learned we’d save $1300 by taking the ferry, we were all in …ferry was $150 cdn for all 4 of us … although the ferry didn’t leave til 11pm …and we arrived around 4 to the terminal after all those trains!

Lots of trains ….

It was a really nice terminal …. Lots of wifi…. Vending machines and restaurants near by - we went for Italian for supper…. Thanks to Marg and Gordon for buying our final meal in England!! Chris and isaac got steaks, Elliot got spaghetti and I got soup and salad … everyone was happy and full and ready for another 4 hour wait back at the terminal …

It’s 10:15 now… not much longer before we can board … 4am arrival in France (they are an hour ahead of us here)….very very long day.  I only felt like losing my mind on them all at dinner time … once fed, all was ok again… made even better being treated by the Burdge’s. Xoxoxo

His evening exercise regime!

We’re pretty much the only walk-on passengers!!

Bus ride to the plank!

It’s like we’re on our own cruise ….

This wasn’t working for Chris to sleep - so we used the last of the pounds the Burdge’s gave us for the trip for a cabin for their boy to sleep well for the next 4 hours …. He’s quite happy.
