Day 7 - old city and night out with friends

Skyping with a 6 year old birthday girl ....
Elliot reading me a chapter from "The Dream Giver"
We hit up the museum again today (It was a 3 museum pass that we bought) ..... i LOVED this!  This is a swinging festival .... I asked Chris to make me one of these and he just laughed ....

These rice fields up in the mountain sure look like something.  We didn't make the trek up the mountains on this trip ... the day trips are just too long for us at this point as we crash around 2pm ... but in March, they burn it all to the ground and Chiang Mai is smokey for weeks....
These are the rice fields all grown in!
It was hot ... and some of the rooms were air conditioned .... we saw so much .. and learned alot about Thai culture ... Elliot has gotten so confident on this trip.  We've seen him grown quite a bit even in this first week.  We actually had to give him a bit of a talking to as he started exploring a little too far from us .... it was un-nerving.
Ride back home .. by a sweet driver named Tee Tee!
I took a few pictures out of the back of the truck ... this line up of scooters went on for a ways back ... the picture doesn't really do it justice but it was fun.
These trucks scream "take a nap"
When we got home, Elliot and I went to pick up our laundry ... yes!  Free Laundry service!  It's how this place blesses families who come -- meals and laundry seem to be the biggest blessings for moms who come and are exhausted.  It's a real rest for everyone.
We had a bit of a rest and put our laundry away before the Millers picked us up for our last night out.  They brought us to their favorite little thai spot in the old city.  Very interesting couple ... the boys each brought books to read on their devices, so they were occupied while the Millers talked about what they are doing in Thailand.
Walking around Old City Centre....Chris bought the boys these little flyers that fly up into the sky ...

Fish eating our feet ....on the list for tommorow lol
